Our Mission

Our mission is to protect the rights and freedoms of the many from being dismantled by a powerful few at all levels of government.

Community Advocacy

After the Supreme Court Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization ruling removed the constitutional right to abortion, our first action was to organize Friday protests in front of the Gettysburg office of anti-choice state senator Doug Mastriano, the Republican candidate for governor.

The protests ran for 19 straight weeks, growing from 10 to more than 100 by election day as local women and men peacefully rallied in support of reproductive, civil, and voter rights. We continue to organize, connect, empower and educate regarding threats to our democracy, policy issues and candidates today.

Fact Based Educational Resource

We host community education on published research, analysis, and policy documents critical to being an informed and engaged citizen. Our partner organizations and members’ presentations have included “Project 2025 Explained”, “Pennsylvania Legislative Redistricting”, “Pathways to Racial Justice”, Supporting Immigrants in Our Community, “Candidate Forums”, “American Voters’ 2024 Priorities. What Did We Learn and Where Does It Lead Us…?”.

We support, and mobilize individuals to be informed, confident, and credible activists, advocates, and voters. We put on member-requested skill-building sessions on critical skills such as “Tips for Effective Canvassing”. We encourage community members to run for election at all levels, from school board to national office. Our members were actively involved in 2024 with voter registration, postcard writing, canvassing, phone banking, and fundraising. Our goal is to “elect representatives at all levels of government who are committed to choice, democracy, equity, and integrity”.
